A Day Away From Me

Pretty flowers I saw today :)
Pretty flowers I saw today πŸ™‚

I think I had a wonderful weekend and I would like to share it with you. The weather was PERFECT! Β 74 degrees yesterday and today, with a light breeze and just the prettiest sun.

Anyway, yesterday I finished all the chores that I just can’t bring myself to do during the weekday (e.g. laundry, grocery shopping, house cleaning). Β I was proud of all that. Β Today, K and I just took it easy. Β I had to take a break from my week. Β It was a long, trying week for me mentally, but the weekend made it all better.

It’s good for someone with OCD to get out in nature (at least for this somebody). Β If you don’t have somewhere to go, like a national forest or state park, just find your nearest park or walking trail πŸ™‚ Β Bring your camera too! Β I find it so relaxing to just take the time to find the beauty in every day things. Β I took tons of pictures today when we went to the nearby campus (my alma mater), and it was stunning at this time of year. Β Let me share with you the pictures I took:

I stopped by Target to get my prescription and then headed to Old Navy, one of my favorite stores, and I went straight to my favorite section: clearance! Β I found these jeans for in my size and when I brought them up to the counter, they were only $6! Β Here they are:

This really made my day because I desperately needed new pants for the winter.

Finally, Chester was doing this forever:

He’s just too funny πŸ™‚

I hope that you enjoyed looking at the pictures! Β I enjoyed taking them.

For all of you, what are the things that help you to get away from the difficulties and stresses of the week? Β I’d love to hear them πŸ™‚

Thanks for reading!

  1. When I have a hard week, I like to sit and watch something with my sister’s kids. They ask questions that make me think sometimes, because as an adult, I just take things for granted and don’t stop and wonder ‘why’ as much as I did when I was their age.

    1. That’s a lovely way to spend your time πŸ™‚ I enjoy time with my nephew and niece, although she can’t talk yet. I know exactly what you mean about the curiosity of kids. My nephew has asked me thinks that stump me sometimes πŸ™‚ I love it. Thanks for sharing that.

  2. Great post, Megan! Thank you. For me, the best “personal medicine” is taking a walk outside while also listening to music I love. When I’m indoors, it helps to hang with my cat and with people I love. Also good: movies, reading blogs I like, writing, and chocolate.

  3. Absolutely, nature trips work for me! I’m making an effort to dedicate Sundays to being active in the outdoors – visiting new places, pushing myself a bit physically and taking pics, which helps you take more notice of the world around.

  4. I have a mountain bike and love riding it around town to go to the beach or for my errands. I have a bike basket that hold lots and a backpack with extra totes for the handlebars if need be. When I get home from a grocery shopping bike ride and see all I managed to fit in the basket and in my backpack and even tote bags, I really congratulate myself and feel good about being an environmentally friendly person.

I also enjoy photography and loved looking at your photos. I have a blog of my photos in Fort Bragg, California at namesconnie.blogspot.com

Take care and enjoyed your writing. Your cat is really cute, too. I still have one more cat and he is a tuxedo cat, black and white and really cute and nice, too. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you so much πŸ™‚

I envy you for being a bike’s ride to the beach! I haven’t been there since I was around 10 years old, and that was to the yucky Atlantic.

I will definitely check out your blog, particularly if you’ve pictures of your kitty πŸ˜€

  5. I think there are legitimate needs for stewardship and generosity: crisis, emergency, illness, suffering. But for kitty box liners and sewing notions like a kid’s letter to Santa Claus….???? Nope.

  6. I was wondering where you went. I really enjoy following your blog, but all of a sudden your posts aren’t showing up like they used to. I have no idea what is up with that. I hope I didn’t upset you or anything like that. If I did, I didn’t mean to. I hope you’ve been doing well. I’ll try checking this box to notify me by email whenever you add a new post, but I had already had that checked. I’ll try it again, unless you don’t want to talk to me, then just let me know, I won’t be offended, and I’ll leave you alone. Maybe it’s because I’m following so many people, now. I have no idea how all this works, I just started blogging last February and I’ve still got a lot to learn. I’ve been nominated for 5 awards in the past week and I have no idea what to do, but I do have a friend that said he would help me, all I have to do is skype him and he said he’ll walk me through it. Any way, I hope you are doing well. πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Tammy πŸ™‚

Yes, long time no hear from you! I have no idea why my posts are showing up for you and I’m so very sorry for that. You definitely didn’t offend me or make me made πŸ™‚ No worries there. i have difficulty seeing some of the people I follow too. Their posts don’t always show up in my reader, which bothers me. Good luck with the awards! They can take some time to get to, but it’s nice to be acknowledged by others πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by Tammy and letting me know about the issue!
      hope all is well,
      Megan

      1. I just really enjoyed reading your posts and there was usually something there every day, or close to it and then all of a sudden, I got so busy with getting more followers and blogging more, myself, and one day it dawned on me that your posts weren’t showing up. I’m following so many people, I don’t know if that has anything to do with it or not. I now, as of today have 7 awards I need to figure out how to accept and display on my page. That is going to take some time. I hope all has been well with you and we’ll just see what happens, if the posts start showing up or what. have a good evening and thanks for responding and letting me know I didn’t upset you in any way, I didn’t think I had, but you never know. πŸ™‚

      2. I think sometimes posts don’t show up in my reader either. I don’t like that because I’ll forget about checking in on someone and then weeks later realize that I haven’t contacted them in awhile. That bothers me! Anyway, glad that you found my posts agaiN πŸ™‚

      3. someone, forgot who told me that sometimes if you unfollow someone and then hit follow again, that helps. I have no clue. Maybe you told me that, I’m not sure, but they are showing up and I’m reading them, so keep em coming, girl.:)

  7. I sleep in and cook more. Cooking is relaxing. Cleaning is relaxing for me too. Getting a lot done in the morning is relaxing for me.I value being in an ordered environment. This makes working with an artist who works from home difficult sometimes. πŸ™‚

      1. You and Chester are the Ultimate Paradoxical couple.! LOL!! It still tickles me that an OCD woman has a cat.
Sounds like a good story idea for me….; )

  8. I just wanted to thank you for sharing those beautiful images. I do not go out as much as I wish I did, but when I do, I am that person that likes to look at the random flowers and, today, for instance, I was staring at trees and collecting leaves. O_o. Also, thank you so much for visiting my page and liking a post. It meant a lot that a regular person was reading something a new person was writing and offering support (not just a person trying to sell something). I am going go read some of your other posts now. thank you. kay, bye.
