Megan’s First Vlog!

Today, I took off from work.  K and I had some things to do out of town and he needed me there, so I took off and went with him as a support.

Before going, however, I made this video!  A couple of my follower suggested that I do one on my post a few days ago, when I asked for suggestions.  I thought, “why not?”   Here it is:

I will admit, it’s awkward.  I didn’t want to make a script or practice what I was going to say because it would be even that more awkward.

Anyway, excuse the bad lighting!  It’s so dark in my house.  Look out for Chester’s debut 😉

I hope you enjoy this or at least find it interesting to see me in action, if you will 🙂

Thanks for watching/reading!

  1. Hello there Megan,
You made a wonderful video, and you are as sweet as a button as my grandmother use to say. Looking forward to seeing the progress on the scarf. Take care and stay happy.

  2. Oh my god you were absolutely doing fabulous. You made me smile and laugh so much.. So shy and nervous. ha ha But hey you did it. you made your first ever vlog. Go applaud in the mirror. And it is your unique quirkiness. not illness. :p Always normal in my eyes so just stay you okay.. keep smiling. it looks good on you.
    I for one LOVED it.
And I am like Chester. NO sweaters please. ha ha.

    1. Aw! Thank you so much 😉 Chester says thank you too, well not really, but I’m sure he would if he could. That’s very kind of you to say. I think it turned out well. I think I’ll probably do more in the future. It’s just so difficult to think about what to say. writing is easier in that regard 🙂
      ❤ megan

  3. This was fun. I was a bit surprised to see you do a vlog because it’s not easy to get in front of a camera and talk for a lot of people, so kudos to you!! Look forward to more in the future crazy cat lady. Lol.

  4. Megan, you did a really cute first blog! Your cat is adorable. He reminds me my cat Sugarbabe. And the scarf is great. Go girl!

  5. Awwww! You did really good for your first!, I still haven’t gotten the courage to do one, although I LOVE Vlogs! Miss Rhomany ( usually does Vlogtober, which is a vlog every day in the month of October and I SO look forward to that month now! I Really Like your Blog, Keep up the Great writing AND VLOGS! I Loved meeting Chester! I have Max and Willow (both rescue Kitty’s) We also have 3 rescue dogs, Oliver Twist, ADT, and Boo. (waving) Looking out for the next one!!

    1. Thank you so much! It was surprisingly more nerve-wracking than I thought, but once I got going it was ok. I will definitely be doing more in the future. I’d love some suggestions on what I should discuss 😉 Also, very happy to meet such a wonderful person who adopts pets 🙂 Chester is adopted. I wouldn’t have had it any other way 🙂

  6. Great vlog! And I absolutely adore Chester! I have a couple of cats (and a dog) myself, but I’m not brave enough to do a vlog. You’ve inspired me though–perhaps I shall post some more pictures, including pictures of the kitties. Thanks for blogging and talking about OCD. I worked in mental health for a very long time, and really enjoyed it. Also, my best friend in the world has OCD and she’s struggled with it as long as I’ve known her. Sometimes she’s OK, while other times she has some pretty bad episodes. It helps to know what’s worked for you so that I can help her better in the future. It’s great to get to know you better through this first vlog. Keep up the good work and give Chester an extra pet for me.

    1. Thank you so much! Chester was surprisingly cooperative. I did a couple of takes and the first time, he did the cat-bearding thing. I messed up big time, so unfortunately I couldn’t post that 😉 I think you should just do one. It turned out to be fun and I’m glad to share that part of myself. I would love to work in mental health and perhaps might get a master’s in educational psychology. Thanks for your encouragement 🙂

  7. Yeah, Megan! That was a super video! It’s good to see who you are, and how you sound. You should make one of these a week on your blog. People love this sort of thing.

    Enjoy your day,

      1. You are quite a beauty on screen, Megan! And the content of your message comes across more effectively with the facial qualities.

You bet you should do the “vblog” more often!

        Enjoy your day,
        Clayton 😉

      2. Thank you for that! I consider that a compliment on the highest order! That is the gift I try to give to others…encouragement to do good…and even better…for themselves!

I want to see some of those “Vlogs” again soon. They are so personally engaging and naturally done.

Enjoy your day, Megan, and I thank you for reading!

        Clayton 😉

  8. Dear Megan, You’re very brave to perform a Vblog and additionally a beautiful person. Chester is also handsome, for the cat world.
This is my first experience to listen and watch a Vblog. It is as if inviting the reader is invited to your house like a neighbour. That’s brilliant. Always be like yourself, which is very good.
    Thank you.

    1. That’s so sweet 🙂 Thank you for saying that. I’d like to think I’m brave, but I just did it without a lot of planning. Like pulling a band-aid off 🙂 I’m glad to have had you over! Please come again 🙂

  9. I love it 🙂 Fun to actually see the person who writes this blog. And Chester of course 😀 The way he raised his paw shortly before you let him down, so adorable! I wish I had a cat like him! Also, I like the way you’re natural in the video – far better than with a script 🙂

    1. Hello Mirijam 🙂 I love the German spelling of your name. Chester does that paw-raising thing to my face all the time. I just don’t notice it anymore. I take it as he’s saying, “shh, shut up now imbecile.” Or he might just like to touch my face when I’m talking 😉

      1. Sometimes it would be fun to know what cats are saying – though probably it’s even more fun this way 😉
The spelling of my name is actually quite unusual in Germany – I like it even more for that 😉 My mom says that it’s the version that’s closest to the actual Hebrew name from the woman in the Bible I am named after (Mary Magdalene) – I have no idea how that can be determined, but I hope she’s right.

      2. I would love to know what Chester is saying because I’m sure a lot of it is not as friendly as I would like 🙂 I’m sure he would be hilarious though. I like the “J” in your name because here people spell it with either a “y” or an “i”. That’s a beautiful namesake 🙂

      3. Yupp, I’m sure it would be hilarious ;-D He would probably try to boss you around and keep telling you that he wants a different kind of food xD

I’ve rarely seen it spelled with a “y”. I do like my “ij”, it’s a special combination and also, “j” is the 10th letter of the alphabet and I like the number 10 🙂

      1. Oh I’m always nervous and record and delete multiple times. I think you put me to shame. Your personality shined. Your facial expressions and voices were awesome 🙂

      2. 😀 I’m sure you did an awesome job. There’s no way you couldn’t. I do tend to make a lot of faces and voices in basically everything I do. I don’t even realize I do it anymore 😉

  10. Well, judging by replies, your vlog is a success. Congrats!
I have been doing a series of tutorials on Youtube for Minecraft. So far, they are not getting any hits. We will see. I am enjoying doing them anyway. I may talk about them on one of my posts to see if that helps any.

    1. Thank you so much Scott 🙂 I have heard of Minecraft, but have never played. I was a huge WoW fan, but haven’t played that in awhile either. Anyway, thanks for checking out my vlog 🙂 it means a lot to me.

  11. Hey, Megan, this vlog was delightful. What a great idea! Chester is a sweetheart. I enjoy your blog. Thanks for visiting mine. (Mine is new … I’m not sure how you found it, but I’m glad that you did.)

The sweater you’re making for your boyfriend is awesome. What a wonderful gift! I love the colour and it looks super warm.
