Today Was A Holiday?

DSC_0079

This was the first Christmas I’ve spent alone.  I’m ok with that, but it was just kind of weird.  It was good or me for a couple of reasons.  I didn’t have to worry about being stressed about getting sick or driving the long distance.  It was just nice to stay home and do what I wanted.  I got to take a nap with Chester 🙂  The only thing that bothered me was that I couldn’t go shopping because nothing is open.  I don’t need much, but I just wanted to get some filling for my crochet projects.

The two things in the picture above are the things I’ve made for Christmas!  The one on the left is donut pincushion.  It’s not quite finished yet because I still need to fill it with cotton and I don’t have any right now.  The thing on the right is an iPad sleeve that I made for my dad 🙂 I’m pretty proud of both things that I’ve made.  I’m also working on a crochet ball because it’s just one of the basics of Amigurumi (crocheting animals and other objects).  I’m excited that I’ve gotten the hang of it!  I’ve been wanting to try Amigurumi for awhile now and am at the level that I can do it.  Crochet is the funnest hobby I’ve done in awhile.

The only thing that felt like Christmas was this sooty candle.  It smells like a Christmas tree, so that’s nice 🙂

I will get to give my gifts on Sunday to my family and I will be so happy to see my niece and nephew.

Hope your holidays were happy!

  1. Merry christmas! 🙂 hope you are doing well and enjoy this time. I think doing what you want and just relaxing can be a good christmas eve 🙂

  2. It really is a great hobby, I knit personally, but both are great ways to relax. Knitting animals? I’m no where near that level of talent yet though 🙂

  3. I started an iPad sleeve and it’s pretty much like the magic potholders, I’m going to make it with any leftover yarns, might turn out cute. As usual my stitches are a little tight and my fingers are tired.lol stupid OCD.

  4. Merry Christmas! It sounds like you had a lovely day – if you ask me that’s the way Christmas should be 🙂
I spent all of Cristmas Eve doing crochet – it was great!

  5. Well you was thought of. Gad to see you are getting through it. Keep smiling.
You could use old shredded rags of different colours in the donuts? through the loops of it you can see different colours then.
Okay hat was my brain kicking in. Guess the alcohol has worn of
keep smiling have a great day.

    1. Thanks for thinking of me 🙂 If I make more donuts, I might venture outside of the box a bit and make them more colorful 🙂 It turned out really well though. Hope you have had and are having happy holidays.

  6. Good work on both pieces! I love crochet, and I almost exclusively do amigurumi now 🙂 It’s so much fun and so relaxing! I am still getting the hang of finishing the pieces, but I have the basic construction down. I stuff mine with rags in a similar color or contrast color to the yarn I used, it’s cheaper and more eco-friendly, and if I have any teeny spots where the stuffing shows through it just adds character 🙂

    1. Thank you! It’s a great hobby and I love the versatility. I just love picking out the yarn and deciding on my next project 🙂 I agree with you, it’s very relaxing and fun 🙂

  7. Looks really great…really looks like you got the stitches and counts perfect…good for you! It is fun..and the time flies by! So does the project…I always made afgans. I posted a special crocheted artwork because of your project. Come see!

    1. I love crocheting and I think I’ve picked it up quite well. The time definitely flies by. I’m currently working on a pencil case for K 🙂 I want to work on an afghan sometime soon, but have to figure out how.

      1. Afghans are the easiest! Those tiny things you want to do are tough looking! Did you see that Canadian crochet link? Was that crazy or what?
