At Least I have Chester

DSC_0683_2This has been a truly off day for me, but at least i have my little kitty boy. I had planned on working on my easy store when I came home from work today, but I doubt that will happen.  I am hoping to get back to crocheting later today or tomorrow.  Look out for my post announcing when my store will be up 🙂

Last night, our water heater stopped working.  I took a shower for less than a minute I think.  It was ice cold.  I didn’t even try to take one today.  Thank goodness they put in a new water heater this afternoon.

So, I have been drinking acai berry for a little over a week today.  It really, really got to me today. I have been so sick at night and all day today.  I eventually had to leave work early, but I couldn’t go too early because the water was turned off while they were installing a new one.  Therefore, I had to wait until 2:30 before I got the call that they were finished to go even leave work.

When I got home, the house was in disarray and although they did put down a sheet to walk on,  the carpet was a bit dirty.  Before I felt I could lay down, I had to pick up all the things from around the house that should’ve been in the utility closet.  When that was finished, I put away the pile of laundry that needed to be put away.  After that, I vacuumed and shampooed the carpets.  I then took a shower, during which I felt like I was going to pass out.  Finally, after brewing some barley tea, I laid down on the couch.  I still feel awful.  I’m still on the couch and watching TV.

Well, that was my strange day! Thanks for reading and I hope you are doing well.

  1. I’m so sorry you had an off day! I had an off week last week… it was to the point where I was so tired and cold all the time that I thought I might be getting the flu. I’ve never heard of barley tea; where do you get it/how do you make it and what is it good for? Feel better!

    1. I’m glad you’re feeling better. It was such a weird week for me, but it’s looking up. Barley tea is a very gentle tea. I love that it tastes sort of like liquid bread 🙂 You can get it at international markets. The one I have is a Korean brand 🙂

  2. WOW, no point going home sick if you are just going to work harder there than you would at your job. I do understand though. Drink lots and lots of fluids and keep warm. I hope that you feel better quickly.

  3. I think Chester must be the most photographed cat ever! I can tell you love him a lot and he is a very handsome one, if I do say so myself. LOL sounds like you had a crazy day, to leave work because you didn’t feel well and to come home and do all that, Lord, girl! I bet your resting on the couch and probably will be for a few days after all that. Take care, my friend.:)

      1. Well, he is your baby, after all and that’s what we do. We take lots of pictures of our babies. LOL 🙂 I would have a million pictures of my dog, but she runs when she sees the camera, she always has. Cracks me up. I get a few when she’s sleeping.:)

      2. Yes, Chester certainly appears to pose for his pictures. I sure wish my dog would because then I would actually have more pictures of her awake. I think Chester must be the most photographed cat, EVER!:)
        I hope you’re doing well.:)

  4. Hey Megan! 🙂
Nothing worse than coming home tired and having to tidy up in some way or another. 😦
I hope your okay and feeling a bit better now. Sending you warmth and a huge hug from Oz, Paula xxxx

  5. Hope you have a better day tomorrow and glad you got your hot water heater fixed, too. I know how awful that is to not have hot water when those hot water heaters break, but happy you got yours fixed right away and glad mine got fixed right away when mine broke, too. Take care. Sincerely, Connie Webb

  6. After a 20+ kilometre (12 mile) hike in Spain last Spring I had a dizzy spell after a very hot shower. I was dehydrated bc didn’t drink enough water. When it’s rainy you still have to drink, apparently.

      1. Fortunately I was out of the shower and dressed when the spell came on. We were staying in the big, pubilc refugio in Astorga on the Camino Santiago. Could have been quite embarassing.

  7. Pets so often can make our days lighter and ease the stress of a tough day. I know mine do. They can be source of such frustration sometimes but they also bring me comfort and make me smile no matter how bad my day was. I’m glad you have Chester to help you through your bad days.
