We were lucky to have another nice weekend. The weather was perfect on Saturday and Sunday was just as beautiful. This tree is blooming now near my apartment and I just had to take a picture of it because the color pink is so stunning against the blue sky.
Isn’t it so pretty? I just love the tree blossoms this time of year. I guess that’s why they call this place Bloomington because we have a ton of trees and each year there’s an explosion of blooming trees 🙂 I love it. (My nose and eyes, not so much).
It was so nice today that K and I headed to our new favorite spot along the lake. He was studying and I was reading my current book that I have on my Kindle. It was such a relaxing spot and we had only the Canadian geese and a couple of gray squirrels to keep us company 🙂
Yesterday was different. K and I went to an outdoor wedding, which was a first for both of us I think. My stepbrother was the one getting married. It was a nice ceremony, short and sweet, and the reception was at the same location. I like weddings at venues like this so you don’t have to drive from the church or wherever and then to the reception. Here’s the tent that the reception was held in:
It couldn’t have been a more perfect day for the weather and I’m glad that it went well for them. Here was the alter they had set up in front of the guests. The bride’s dress was so beautiful. I definitely had a bit of wedding envy 🙂
Before going to the wedding, I was all ready with my clothes out on the bed. When I put my stockings on, I found that they were totally ripped in the back, so I couldn’t wear them. Thus, I was left wearing 5″ stilettos without some form of blister protection, not counting bandaids which proved useless. Also, high-heels and outdoor weddings is just dumb in the first place. I didn’t even think of that.
After about an hour of standing on the back patio because for some reason we couldn’t go into the reception area and after about 2 or 3 glasses of riesling, my feet were incredibly swollen, sore and red. Everyone was telling me to take them off. On a normal day, I would’ve rather my feet bled and fell off than take my shoes off on a highly trafficked, outdoor floor. Sure enough, I got desperate enough and took them off. I was walking around barefoot. After a couple more drinks, I was walking even to the restroom with no shoes on!!!! Looking back now, I can’t believe I did that. However, I’m still here, alive and healthy, except for a mild headache 😉
Here’s a shot of the tent from inside:
Turns out I survived something that would usually gross me out to no end, the thought of my feet covered in dirt and germs is gross now, but at the time I was ok with it. Funny 🙂 I was just glad to spend time with K and my family.
Hope you all had a nice weekend!
Best,
Megan
I am glad you and your feet survived. 🙂 The blossom tree photos are gorgeous, and I can see how lovely it must be by the lake. Hooray for the great outdoors.
They are so pretty. We have a few trees like that and I just love them. I’m just lucky that we have such great outdoor places to visit nearby 🙂
Unexpected challenge
Overcome, with aplomb
Family time, outside time
Thinking back, and smiling
😉
Lovely little poem 🙂 It was a surprise accomplishment that’s for sure.
What a beautiful photograph! I can’t wait until trees are blooming like this in Minnesota.
Thank you! It is such a beautiful tree this time of year.
Looks like a beautiful wedding. Outdoor weddings are the best, as long as they’re storm-free.
It was perfect for an outdoor wedding. They really lucked out 🙂
See, life with germs is ok.remember that time when you get anxious, it’s not that big a deal. Love you
Yeah, but it was because of liquid courage. Would never do that sober. Oh my god, I have such a funny story about Tyler I gotta tell you.
I’m so excited for you Megan! What a breakthrough accomplishment! I sincerely believe your ability to let go and live in the moment freed you! Oh, and that pink tree? Ah-mA-Zing! Thank you for sharing! ❤️Ann
Aw thank you! I was a little proud of myself 🙂 It’s a good thing I took a picture of the tree when i did. A storm came 2 days ago and blew all the blooms off 😦
Wow! You’ve come so far! I’m really happy for you!
Also, enjoy that weather, y’all over there deserve it after this winter.
Thank you 😀 I’m kind of proud of me too. It is definitely a relief to have some warmth here!
way to go! i’m proud of you for “going for it” without the shoes. p.s. the blossoms are so beautiful! thanks for sharing.
you’re welcome dear 🙂 It’s a good thing I took the pictures when I did because a storm blew them all off the trees 😦
Megan you are amazing to be able to forgo your fears like that, way to go girl!! 🙂
Thank you so much 🙂 You’re very kind to say that.
