A Few New Things and Molang-i

Pattern copyright Lucy Collin 2011

I have been working on this dragon pattern for a couple of weeks and finally finished it over the weekend.  I just had to share it because it’s really cute and it was fun to make.  I learned some new techniques along the way.  I’m really surprised I have the patience for detailed projects like this, but somehow I am able to stick with them.  I think I just finally found my hobby.

I got the pattern from ravelry.com.  The designer’s username is Lucy Ravenscar and she makes some awesome patterns.  I thought this was a good pattern and there weren’t any mistakes that I could find, so the final product was quite cute.  Here’s the dragon in pieces:

I finally got in my package from Morning Glory!  I am in love with that site now. The shipping was quick and they were very kind with their emails.  I will definitely purchase from the site again.

I was happy to treat myself to something that I’ve wanted for quite some time.  I look at that site often, but I finally broke down and bought something.  I just love the things I got. They are beyond cute.

Here’s a list of things I got:

  • A Rilakkuma pencil case 😀
  • A Rilakkuma twistable eraser
  • A Molang mechanical pencil

My favorite character is Molang-i, which according to K means “I don’t know!”  Molang is a Korean character and it’s a cute, fat rabbit.  I just love it.  I’m actually crocheting him right now and will have to share it after I finish 🙂

I know, I’m 24 and I might seem a little old for this kind of thing, but they are marketed more toward teens and adults rather than children.  I don’t care. I like things that are cute and these little things bring a smile to my face 🙂

There’s nothing OCD related today or lately really.  I’ve been doing quite well since the warm weather has come our way.  I love this time of year.  I think during these times when I’m doing well, I’d just rather share some of the joy in my life than the trials and mental issues 🙂

Anyway, thanks so much for reading, and look for me on Ravelry!

Best,

Megan

  1. That dragon is DARLING! I’m glad you’re doing better and have found a hobby you can enjoy and are so good at! Tell Chester “purrs & tunas are headed his way!”

    *(Trillllllls)*

  2. 24 is old? C’Mon, you have got to be kidding me. I am muchhhhh older than you and I tell everyone that I am slim, trim and handsome! Cool designs. What is Ravelry?

  3. I wish I could get good at knitting and crochet. I love the idea of it. While I can sew and do plenty of other crafts, hand weaving eludes me. Your dragon is adorable.

  4. Keep sharing the joy sure brings a smile to my face. seeing you with Molang-I 😛
Just say you are still in touch with your inner child. always good always fun to have around.

Keep on smiling and loved the dragon.

    1. True 🙂 It’s good to be in touch with that part of oneself, especially since I identify with having an old soul. I wonder what or who I was in a past life? 🙂

  5. You could sell that dragon in a heartbeat at a sic-fi convention. There is one in Indianapolis at the Marriott East 4th of July weekend. I bet if you took it and sat in the lobby, you could either sell it or take orders (and deposits) for more.

  6. The dragon is really neat! It looks pretty complicated, and accurately done – good job 🙂 And I’m glad you’re doing so well and enjoying this time of the year 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Mirijam 🙂 It took awhile, but it wasn’t too difficult. I hope you’re doing well. Also, I got your letter in the mail! Thank you and I will reply soon 🙂

  7. So happy you are feeling good Megan! The dragon is adorable and to me looks like a lot of patient work had to go into it. Perhaps your OCD is also a blessing sometimes as maybe it enables you to persevere with projects where others might lose interest or give up because of the difficulty. As always, I think you are awesome!! xo

    1. Thank you so much! You’re such a sweetheart. Sometimes it is a blessing or strength for me, but most of the time it’s not. I do find that I’m more dedicated to reaching a finished project, but on the other hand, I usually over-do it and then get sick of that project/hobby. 🙂
