A Week Without Internet

Here’s a picture of Chester enjoying the view of his new “mega window” as I call it.

It feels so wrong to me not posting of so long!  I promise, I’ve been here all along, just without internet.  I have been in the process of moving and it has been hectic, to say the least.  I just hate going from one place to the other carrying stuff here and there and it seems never ending.  I’m finally at a place where I feel basically settled and ok, but it’s still taking some getting used to.

In the past week, I’ve been busy working mostly and with the move.  Chester has been so silly since we moved!  He is exploring EVERYTHING.  When we first got into the house, he made several perimeter checks of the apartment, which means he just walked along all the walls.  He was so restless the first few nights.  The second night he discovered the springy doorstops we have.  We didn’t have them before, but now we do.  I woke up in the middle of the night to the sounds of the spring behind the bedroom door.

I love my new place! It ha a balcony, which I never had before and we put an outdoor dining set out there.  It’s quite cute.

I just love how it’s set up and I think my belongings and furniture go really well in here.

Excuse my foot 😦

At the end of the moving day, we were all exhausted, including Chester, who honestly didn’t do anything at all to help with the move except trip me a few, no many, times.

Oh and apparently we have a squirrel that likes to visit us now.

He’s laying down there, just checking out the surroundings.

Well, that’s been my week away from my blog!  Glad to have my internet up and running again 🙂

Tell me about your week!

  1. Cats are always so helpful XD My cats enjoy the packing and unpacking part. But the actual move they hate. Lovely that you have a balcony! We have one on the first floor and I started a small patio garden 🙂 The cats come out with me, but I have to watch them closely because Punky likes to jump over it >_> I’m not fond of chasing after him. Looks like you are surrounded by trees? In our old apartment our balcony faced a parking lot. But here it faces lots of trees, and there are birds and squirrels. My cats like to chirp at the birds from their mega-window :3 I hate moving too! Glad you’re moved in now though 🙂

    1. Chester did ok. He was weird the first few days and just continuously did perimeter checks of the entire apartment haha. He’s calmed down though and seems to be on his sleeping schedule again. I hate when he’s restless. I could totally see Chester doing what Punky does and jumping off the patio. That’s why I’m super careful about letting him near it 🙂

  2. Oh my GOD!! That cute little squirrel >.<
Just the way in which it's kinda like, sandwhiched in. XD it made me laugh!

  3. I’ve missed you, human – (and Chester) –
I’ve had my paws full around here with the human having the Creature around all day 5 days a week.. (dang humans)!

I’m glad you like your new house. You should throw Chester and his furiends a housewarming party with tons of boxes and a boatload of nip.

    *(just sayin) *

      1. Oh, my human has a box in the living room fur me that she can’t bring herself to throw away too!! I figure if Chester and I play our cards right, you and the human will soon be moving your FURniture out to make room fur more boxes!!

  4. I’m glad your all settled in. My last move was from Philly to Western NY 5 years ago. Sense then my son has wanted me to sell mobile home. I told him I am not moving again! My place meets my needs, I have lots of land and I have a beautiful view. I am happy here so no more moving for me!

  5. Good to have you back! I missed your posts. Moving is always a huge stress, but it looks like you have settled in well so far. You’ve obviously been very busy while some of us have just mooched about having a boring and unproductive week. The outside of your new place looks pretty and green, and Chester seems to have settled in okay too. Does he go outside yet or are you keeping him in for a while? What does he think of the squirrel?

    1. I am so glad to be back! You’re right, it can be stressful and Chester is doing much better. He was quite restless the past few days and it worried me, but he seems to be getting back to himself. Chester is a totally inside cat. Sometimes I will take him for “walks” (more like drags) outside on his harness or let him sit on the balcony with his harness. He doesn’t much like it outside. He LOVED the squirrel, and by love I’m pretty sure I mean he just wanted to eat it 🙂

  6. I moved recently too….cats are absolutely no help except for making the place feel lived in, despite all the boxes!
Having a squirrel visitor is kind of cute; I love that shot of him escaping your new balcony!!

    1. Oh yeah, Chester was no help whatsoever. I caught him outside walking the sidewalk and I screamed and he bolted back in. More stressful than helpful, that’s for sure 🙂

  7. It’s good to hear from you again! I’m glad that the moving is over (though I hope the unpacking goes well also) and I hope that the new place treats y’all well.

    1. we are finally settled in and loving it. A change is great for the soul, I think. Our old apartment was toxic I feel and I always felt ill int here. I feel so happy and health y in our new home. I am checking out your post now!

      1. Change is wonderful–not enough people do it! I’m so happy your new place is bringing you a new lease on life! ❤

  8. Oh, I want to have a squirrel that comes and visits me!
Like you, I dislike moving, packing everything up, carrying/ driving it around, unpacking it again… It’s all such a mess! So I’m glad for you that you’re done and feel at ease at the new place now! And the balcony looks awesome… 🙂

    1. The squirrel has been back a few times. It seems to be a bit tame, which is strange, but it means I can see it up close. I hope you’re doing well! I did get your letter, but was waiting until I moved to reply, so that you would know where I live now. No worries, I will mail it out soon! Sorry about that.

  9. Congrats on the new digs!! Looks pretty good. Hope you settle in there quickly and Chester doesn’t get to hung up on the door springs. (they can be annoying in the middle of the night every night)

    1. thank you Bill 🙂 We are really enjoying it. he hasn’t seemed to bother the door springs again. I know he’ll rediscover them at some point, but for now he has forgotten I think 🙂
