Infusing Water, Baby Things, and Positive Vibes

Oh my goodness. Chester was super cuddly when I came home today and wanted nothing more than to just rub his scent all over my arms and legs. I happened to get a picture of him licking my arm! I love that you can see his tongue in this picture ๐Ÿ˜€

I am trying to make more of an effort to be positive as often as possible. It’s easy to be pessimistic about everything, but not quite as easy to see the good and happy in things. This isย especiallyย not always easy to do when the weather is awful and it’s gloomy most days. ย Indiana is quite ugly this time of year. I’ve rarely seen the sun for months. ย Sometimes I wonder why I even live here. It can be really depressing. ย This weekend, I made an effort to work out everyday, Blogilates style, and to eat healthy foods. I even started drinking fruit infused water, which I brought to work today. Lemon-infused water = reallyย refreshing! ย It really helped reduce my chronic bloating today, gross, but it’s the truth.

All you need to make fruit-infused water is your favorite fruits, some ice, and water. Put these in the container, preferably a water bottle, pitcher, or even jar, and let it sit for at least 2 hours and up to 24 hours. ย I tried mandarin oranges and blueberries on Saturday and it was pretty yummy too.

After an incident on Friday when a new friend came to our house and then wanted to go home after we ate at a restaurant because he was feeling “under the weather”, I was in desperate need of some relaxation and anti-anxiety time.

One thing that always gives me some relaxation is crocheting. I love to just sit on the couch with the natural lighting and crochet something. I am almost finished with a dress for my niece. It’s so delicate and cute.

I also began work on a baby blanket for a friend’s baby shower coming up.

I’m loving the scalloped edges!

A lot of baby stuff, but I like using the yarn meant for baby things because it’s so soft and delicate.

What sort of things do you do to relax and to stay positive? Have you tried infusing water?ย I’d love to hear your thoughts ๐Ÿ™‚

    I relax by sitting and listening to quiet music with my eyes closed. ๐Ÿ˜Š
    If I want to do something more mentally stimulating, I play brain teaser computer games. I used to crochet and knit. I may start doing it again. Hope the dress comes out beautifully. Be sure to post a photo. ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. To relax you should totally try turning on a good set of music (you might try work.org) turn out the lights in the bathroom at night get a beer and take it into the shower. Candles work too. Bonus points if you get high first (of course then you have to deal with being high after, too)

  3. Megan, that little dress is adorable! I have taken up Zumba. It’s a blast for this granny Hen…lol! I relax with my photo digital art.. I need to take up crocheting.. I met someone recently that has experience.. Chester is always cute…It’s good to work towards a positive outlook. We gain strength from it..

  4. I’m going to try infusing water when I get home tonight. I’ve never know how to do it before! My husband has issues with bloat and says lime juice energizes him, so I bet this would be great for him!

    I love the crochet. It makes me want to pick up a hook again!

  5. I love infusing water – it’s a great way to get your recommended amount if you don’t love the taste of water on its own.

      1. It’s like being at a spa. I drink it a lot during the summer. It’s very cooling when it’s super hot out and you need to keep hydrated. However, I’m not picky and will drink it any time of year.

    I have not tried fruit infused water, but I use essential oils in my water. And I love lemon in the morning, it really helps my chronic fatigue and helps me wake up. I sometimes wake up with headaches/migraines/brain fog and have found that it helps those as well.
    So yeah, it’s hard for me to miss my morning lemon water. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Reading is a hobby of mine where I can fully participate and forget any negative thoughts. I’m very thankful for it. Hehe! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. I go all out with my daily water – freshly squeezed lemon juice and a couple sprigs of mint into my 1 litre bottle. Good for my gut and a hint of mint my favourite aroma at the moment!

      1. I think it’s spearmint that we have available locally at the Asian market stalls (according to pictures online). But I will keep an eye out for the darker stalk of peppermint. I buy it when my body tells me to by letting me know how good it smells!
