The Beauty Questions Tag

I saw that another blogger, Dorkchops, responded to the Beauty Questions Tag and I thought that looked fun and I really enjoyed doing the last one I did, so I’m responding to this tag myself.  This one was interesting to fill out too. I really had to think about some of these questions 🙂 I hope you enjoy reading this.

 S k i n c a r e

1. How many times do you wash your face daily?
I wash my face twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. At night, I have a two-step cleansing process. I take off my makeup with cleansing oil first and then use a foaming cleanser.

2. What skin type do you have?
I have normal/sensitive skin. I (knock on wood) don’t have problem with oil, acne, or blemishes. If something irritates my skin, it breaks out in a rash and/or dries out.

3. What is your current face wash?
I am currently using doTerra’s Melaluca and Peppermint facial cleanser and it’s just wonderful. Probably the best cleanser I’ve ever used. I use Julep’s Bare Faced cleansing oil to remove makeup in the evening. It’s been great so far.

4. Do you exfoliate?
I exfoliate regularly and have found it to be an integral part of my skincare routine. I probably exfoliate twice a week. For my face, I either use St. Ive’s Apricot Scrub, which I think many can agree is a go-to scrub, or doTerra’s Invigorating Grapefruit and Peppermint Scrub for days I want a little lighter exfoliation. For my body, I am using Soap & Glory’s The Scrub of Your Life. It’s in their famous Pink scent and it smells like heaven.

5. What moisturiser do you use?
Goodness, I use a lot of moisturizers. I use the Face Shop’s Chia Seed Moisture Holding Seed Cream at night all over my ace. I use doTerra’s Anti-Aging Moisturizer, which smells like flowers and I sometimes just smell it because it smells so lovely. I also use a sleep pack every other night. The one I am using now is the Etude House Collagen Moistfull Sleeping Pack and it gives me a boost of moisture when I use it. I use Avon Elements Moisture Boost Daily Moisture Lotion. It’s a great lotion. I have no complaints and it has a bit of SPF in it, which makes it perfect for daytime.

7. Do you have freckles?
Oh yeah. I have a ton of them.

8. Do you use eye cream?
Yes, I do! Currently I am using Hanskin’s Intense Eye Cream.

9. Did you or do you have acne prone skin?
No, I do not. I can thank my mama and grandma for that. They both have lovely skin and look way younger than their years.

10. What foundation do you use?
I do not use foundation. I use BB cream and right now I’m using the Etude House Total Age Repair BB Cream.

11. How about concealer?
I use concealer only on my dark circles. I  have had them ever since I was a kid. I am using Skinfood’s Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream. I love it!

12. Do you know your undertone colour?
I have a neutral undertone.

13. What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I think if you can wear them then you should go for it. They can look really awesome on people. I’ve tried many times and failed hilariously. It’s usually very obvious when I am wearing them because I’m so fair and I just plain suck at applying them.

14. Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
Yes, I do know this, but I base it on smell and texture. Cheaper ones tend to go bad quicker, in my opinion.

15. Sephora or MAC?
I like Sephora quite well, but honestly have never been in a MAC.

16. What makeup tools do you use for makeup application?
I use a this Soho Blender Sponge which is working great so far and a variety of brushes. Those change daily depending on what makeup I’m applying. My favorite brush is my Tarte Airbuki. It’s so soft and versatile.

17. Do you use a makeup base/primer for the eyes?
Yes, I think it makes my shadow look much more vibrant. I am using Urban Decay’s Original Primer Potion.

18. For the face?
Yep. I have two that I use. I use bareMinerals’ Prime Time. It goes on silky smooth and you just need a pea-sized amount. I also use the Etude House Precious Mineral Magic Any Cushion in Pink.

19. What is your favourite eyeshadow shade?
I love golds and pinks and corals, but a good coral is difficult to find.

20. Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
I use pencil eyeliners, but never black. I use colorful ones, and I especially like my pink, silver, and gold liners that I got from Holika Holika. The Holika Holika Jewel Light Waterproof Eyeliner is the best I’ve used. I have 4 of the colors and love them!

21. How often do you poke your eyes with a pencil eyeliner?
Is this a normal thing? I never do this. Believe it or not, I have pretty good control of my fine motor skills.

22. What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
I have never used them, so I can’t say.

23. What do you think of mineral makeup?
I don’t like it. It makes me look chalky. I think this refers to loose powders, right? If so, yeah I don’t like it on me.

24. What is your favourite lipstick?
I’m not a fan of lipstick. I prefer gloss or stain.  My favorite everyday lipgloss is the Rimmel Stay Glossy lipgloss. They have a great variety of colors and it’s really long lasting and vibrant.

25. Do you like drugstore makeup?
It really depends on the brand.

26. Did you ever consider taking makeup classes?
Nah, if I need to know anything there’s always Youtube.

27. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
That depends. I’m not really great at putting on eyeliner. I am awful, just awful at creating winged eyeliner. I’m sure practice makes perfect, but there’s only so much practicing you can do before your eyes become raw.

28. Name a makeup crime that you hate
I think I’m going to go with Dorkchops on this one and say using the wrong color of foundation 😦

29. Do you like colourful shades or makeup?
I’m confused by this. I like colorful shades and makeup ?

30. Which celebrities always have great makeup?
Emma Stone. She’s a wonderful person and so beautiful. Also Jennifer Lawrence.

31. If you could leave the house wearing just one makeup item, what would you choose?
Probably just lipgloss. It really makes a difference for me.

32. Could you leave the house without putting any makeup on?
Yeah, I do it all the time. I prefer wearing makeup, however.

33. In your opinion, what’s the BEST beauty line?
There isn’t just one. I’d have to go with Etude House, Urban Decay, and Too Faced.

34. Lastly, what do you think of makeup?
I think makeup is a way for me to express myself and to enhance my natural beauty. I can’t stand when people let makeup wear them and use it as a mask. I think it should enhance the beauty you already have, not make you a completely different person.

The list was long, but fun! I’d love to hear your responses to these questions. Let me know if you do this tag. I’d love to read your responses as well!

      1. If you like brown and want a practice liner, Covergirl makes a mini little felt tip liner (called LineExact, I think) in a light (ish) brown shade. It is what I first used to help with liquid liner actually because it stays put on my lids, but washes away SO easily with water. I can’t remember the cost but it is drugstore, being Covergirl, and usually found on the bottom row of their displays haha. Definitely soemthing you can use and wipe away and use when practicing a wing =)

    1. St. Ives Apricot Scrub is one of my go-to scrubs. It’s excellent, inexpensive, and so readily available. I guess that’s why women have been using it for decades 🙂 I’m glad you liked my tips! If you have anything else you’d like me to address, I’d love to! I’m no expert, but I’m always looking for post ideas. Thanks 🙂
