June 2015 Kawaii Box Review

So, if you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you’ve probably noticed that I really love cute things and a lot of these “things” come from Korea or Japan. I have a small stuffed animal collection of cute little plushies from Korea and Japan and I learned to crochet in order to make my own plushies 🙂  I always ask K to bring back something “cute” from Korea when he goes and I’m never disappointed.  One of my few life philosophies is that to truly enjoy life, you need to appreciate the cute.

Luckily, for people like me (and maybe you), there’s a subscription box dedicated to all things cute!  It’s called Kawaii Box, which is perfect. Kawaii means cute in Japanese. I was very happy when Kawaii Box chose me to review their most recent monthly Kawaii Box.  All of the following opinions are my own!

Kawaii Box is a subscription box service that operates out of Singapore, so it does take a bit of time to get the package, but they ship all over the world for free!  Plans start at just $17.30 a month and each box contains 10-12 kawaii items.

I love subscription boxes because they always offer that element of surprise. The Kawaii Box was definitely a wonderful surprise!  Here’s a list of everything I got!FullSizeRender-57

This box was absolutely full and packed so neatly that you’d never know that the small box that arrived contained so many things.  I’m going to show you all of the items I received and give you a bit of my opinion on each. Here it goes!FullSizeRender-59

Alpaca Bag Charm- This is by far my favorite item in the box. I love these cute Alpacas that come from Japan. I really want an Alpacasso plushie, but have yet to break down and buy one. This makes me seriously just as happy.
Kracie Bubble Jelly DIY Candy I have yet to try this, but what a unique idea it is to be able to make your own candy 🙂 Funny.
(Left) Ice Cream Stickers- Aren’t they so cute! You can’t tell in the picture, but they are three dimensional, squishy stickers. (Right) Animal Sticky Notes- I needed some new sticky notes around the house and what better than two note pads shaped like birds.
Korean Nail Art Set- This is a cute idea, but I do not wear artificial nails. One of my best features are my nails. I never even paint them because I’m afraid to weaken them. I think I’ll give this to my stepsister for Christmas.
Smiling Poop Pencil Sharpener- This is the funniest thing from the box for sure. Smiling poop? hahaha. Somehow someone somewhere has managed to make poop cute.
(Left) Kawaii Bean Mini Plush- This little buddy will go on my shelf with my other plushies. It’s really a sweet little plushie, very kawaii. (Right) Strawberry Squishy Charm- This looks very realistic and is almost so real, I could eat it. I exaggerate, but I love the icing detail on the bottom.
Cute Animals Pill Box- I don’t have a pillbox, so this is something I can bring to work with me! What an adorable way to take anti-depressants.
Hello Kitty Pen- This is probably the most delicate, elegant pen I’ve ever owned. It’s so thin and pretty and the charm is a perfect addition.
Cute Guys Stationary Set- This is a really cute little stationary set! I showed K and he made fun of me. He said, “This is for elementary school students, you know that?” I just laughed. I’m sure it is, but it’s still cute and we don’t have something like this here.

Reviewing the Kawaii Box was a really pleasant experience. This is probably one of the few subscription boxes I could keep renewing. It is so much fun for someone like me, who loves all things Kawaii, to get this lovely box of surprise and sweetness in the mail each month.

I hope you’ll give it a chance!

  1. I love it! I never knew there was even such a thing as a kawaii box. I’ve seen someone on YouTube try that diy candy before, but i don’t remember if they liked it or not. And I’m definitely keeping an eye out for the giveaway! I would love a Kawaii Box! 😀
